Resumo:
In this article, we bring together our experience – as a teacher and her former student in an undergraduate degree Program in Social Work –, to record and analyze the discrimination and prejudice at work in the academic community against students who challenge gender norms, as well as to launch a debate on gender, body, sexuality and its interface with Social Work. For this purpose, we rescue confrontations, negotiations, shifts and continuities in the relations of a transsexual student with her teachers, peers, course coordinators and university administration.
